1) Less plastic
Choose a reusable bag instead of plastic bags in stores. Even "eco-friendly" bags turn into microplastics that can be eaten by birds. There is still no solution for recycling such bags due to their chemical properties and impurities.
Use reusable bottles and cups to reduce plastic waste.
Buy products without unnecessary packaging.
2) Save water
Remember to switch off the water while brushing your teeth, this aswill save a lot of litres of water.
Collect rainwater that you can use to water your plants.
Do not leave the water running while you are washing dishes.
3) Reduce your energy consumption
Switch off lights and appliances when you are not using them. This not only saves resources, but also reduces your costs.
Use energy-efficient light bulbs, which last longer and consume less.
4) Minimise food waste
Plan your purchases and calculate your strength so that you don't waste food.
Freeze leftovers. If you don't have time to eat the food, store it in the freezer. But keep in mind that not all foods can be stored in this way.
Compost the leftovers. The husks and residues can be turned into fertiliser for plants.
5) Choose environmentally friendly transport
Walking or cycling is good for your health and the environment.
Use public transport or carpooling. Less cars means less waste.
If you own a car, keep a close eye on its technical condition.
6) Join the volunteers
Clean up in parks and forests. If you see litter, pick it up and dispose of it in the appropriate place.
Plant trees and plants. Donate or participate in events, because they can make a big difference.
7) Consume responsibly
Buy quality items that will last a long time, or don't be afraid to shop second-hand to give things a second chance.
Use natural cleaning products. Baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice are great alternatives to chemicals that will preserve fresh water.
